NICK EICHER, HOST: A woman in Germany is making a name for herself in local politics.
Lisel Heise was the top vote-getter for the town council in last month’s election in a small town close to Frankfurt.
I’ll even dare to try to pronounce it for you: the town of Kirchheimbolanden.
Some say Heise an up-and-coming political powerhouse. After all, she did manage to beat 19 other candidates in the race.
Her energetic campaign is all the more impressive, when you consider Lisel Heise may be a newcomer to politics, but hardly a newcomer to life: She’s 100 years old.
Just goes to show: It’s never too late to start something new.
It’s The World and Everything in It.
