NICK EICHER, HOST: A woman in Maine was out taking her morning nature walk when she noticed something a little out of place.
A snow bank. I mean that literally.
An automated teller machine stood in snow-covered grass on the edge of the woods. It didn’t work, but it was upright and otherwise looked perfect.
The mysterious woodland ATM had the woman and her neighbors scratching their heads.
Finally, police got to the bottom of the mystery. The owner of the machine confessed to the sheriff’s office that she was the one who left the machine there to prank her neighbors!
Apparently she’s been doing this for some time after finding the ATM discarded.
She could face a fine for littering, but authorities said they’d rather not overreact.
