NICK EICHER, HOST: Great news: Gracie the giraffe is headed home!

The three-year-old wandered away from her Texas ranch a couple weeks ago, and on Friday, an aerial search team finally spotted her.

Though “spotted” has always kind of been God’s standard paint job for giraffes, right?

In any event, Gracie was about four miles away, she was standing near a pond with lots of short trees around—short by her standards, of course. Her owner says she looked terrific standing there, swishing her tail, just as happy as can be.

Veterinarians planned to load her into a specially built giraffe trailer and bring her home.

The owner says Gracie probably just wandered down the wrong side of a gate looking for something to eat. Lesson learned: He's putting up a fence.

As for Gracie ... she seems to have enjoyed her little Texas staycation.
