Do you want to hear something blatantly ridiculous and totally depraved?

A California lawmaker introduced a measure that would require health insurance companies to cover infertility treatments for two people of the same sex. Right now, you’re probably shaking your head and considering the obvious: Two people of the same sex are biologically incapable of conceiving a child with each other.

California allows normal couples to receive coverage for infertility treatments if they’ve tried to conceive for a year without success. Assemblyman Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco), a homosexual, predictably, introduced AB 460 in February, and the bill is scheduled to appear before the state Senate Committee on Health at the end of the month. The bill, like most deviant ideas, pushes non-discrimination past the point of absurdity:

“This bill would require that the coverage for the treatment of infertility be offered and provided without discrimination on the basis of age, ancestry, color, disability, domestic partner status, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation. Because a willful violation of the bill’s provisions by a health care service plan would be a crime, the bill would impose a state-mandated local program.”

When we ignore the meanings of words or seek to change their definitions, this is the result. Homosexuals “trying” to conceive for a year naturally won’t be successful. If the bill becomes law, health insurance companies can’t turn them down for coverage even though two men obviously can’t conceive. The madness is boundless.

Of course, Ammiano knows two men can’t conceive. The ultimate goal of AB 460 is to require insurers to pay for artificial insemination and surrogacy for homosexuals. If the homosexual lobby can succeed in changing the definition of marriage to include two people of the same sex, they certainly can change the word infertile to include two men who biologically can’t conceive.

Crazy? Yes, and it’s going to get worse. Every day we see evidence of God giving up those who rebel to “uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator. …”

Corrupted minds that come up with bills like AB 460 will use any means necessary to justify their sin. That Ammiano wasn’t laughed out of the building for introducing this bill is a sad demonstration of man’s depravity. It might seem futile to rage against immorality or try to change hearts and minds. How long do we keep warning the unsaved “that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them?” What can Christians do?

Keep praying, keep witnessing, and keep warning them that Christ will return to deliver the Father’s wrath to the unrepentant. Tell them what they know but choose to ignore to their eternal detriment—no matter how corrupted they are, there is freedom from sin in Christ.
