Sunday’s tragic centennial

The 100th anniversary of the founding of abortion giant Planned Parenthood

Heritage Foundation president Jim DeMint writes:

“Tomorrow, October 16th, 2016 marks a bloody centennial: the 100th anniversary of the founding of Planned Parenthood. Heritage will be joining many other groups on Twitter with the hashtag #100YearsOfAbuse.”

WORLD Magazine’s Sept. 17 cover story documented how Hillary Clinton is celebrating the century of abuse by doubling down on Planned Parenthood and pushing for it to get more taxpayer money via repeal of the Hyde Amendment.

The cover story by Jamie Dean noted, “In New York City—where the state funds abortions through Medicaid—more black babies died in abortions than were born alive in 2013. Still, some Democrats want more funding for abortion-on-demand.” Jamie noted the Democratic Party platform’s call to repeal the Hyde Amendment and fight Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood.

That platform called reproductive healthcare and abortion “core to women’s, men’s, and young people’s health and wellbeing.” Not much concern there for the health and well-being of the very young, babies in the womb.

Democrats have apparently forgotten their history.

Democrats have apparently forgotten their history, summed up well in the words of their 1968 presidential candidate, Hubert Humphrey. In 1977, four years after Roe v. Wade and one year before his death, Humphrey recalled, “It was once said that the moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life—the sick, the needy and the handicapped.” But the cry among advocates of abortion and euthanasia now is: Death to the youngest and the oldest.

DeMint’s note continued:

“Explicitly instituted for ‘racial betterment’ and to reduce the numbers of poor, the disabled, and ‘various criminal types,’ the house that Margaret Sanger built has always required constant reinvention to distract from its roots in the progressive eugenics movement and its current role as the largest abortion provider in the nation. If these shameful distinctions weren’t offensive enough, investigations by groups like The Center for Medical Progress and Live Action have exposed the callous brutality and corruption underlying an industry fundamentally opposed to the right to life of the most vulnerable Americans.”
