Daron Malmborg's choice of a Salt Lake 2002 Olympics vanity license plate. For 11 months, Mr. Malmborg tooled around his hometown of Riverton, Utah, with the plates on his truck-then he received a letter from the state ordering him to turn in the plates or lose his vehicle registration. When Associated Press reporters got wind of the story and called the Utah State Tax Commission for an explanation, the community relations director quickly backtracked. "Thanks for bringing it to our attention," said Janice Perry Gully. "We're going to revoke the letter."
