Charlotte Ann Neely-White, 55, of Mount Vernon, Mo., after a scuffle on her wedding day with an intruder who tried to steal her pickup truck. While the two were fighting over a pistol, the gun went off, wounding the intruder in the chest. A few hours later, the July 4 wedding went on as scheduled.
With all the negative stuff that's come out of this, sooner or later you have to laugh about it.

Leon Kass, chairman of the President's Council on Bioethics, in a letter announcing the council's report. Seven of the 18 members favored an immediate and total ban on human cloning; they joined with three others who support a temporary (four-year) ban to form a majority. Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.), anti-cloning point man in the Senate, said the report "heartened" him, but wished it had been tougher.
