She plea bargained to six months of home detention. Ms. Battalino discussed her feelings about President Clinton on NBC's Today. One hundred fifteen people sit in federal prison today for the crime of perjury.

Jesse Washington, editor in chief of Blaze magazine, after he was kicked and beaten by a rap producer because a photograph in the publication revealed the producer as the Madd Rapper. Mr. Washington was treated and released from the hospital.

Payee on an altered taxpayer's check to the IRS. The General Accounting Office issued a report last week charging that IRS employees embezzled $5.3 million from 1995 to 1997. An unidentified IRS official commenting on the report said, "We are aware that there are instances where people embezzle or clone checks, but we don't think it is widespread."

Loren Weiss, attorney for Raymond McArthur-Jones, providing an alternate explanation for her client's guilt in a child pornography case. Mr. McArthur-Jones was sentenced last week in Salt Lake City to 23 months in prison for hiding images of children on his adult pornography Web site.
