Former 1960s radical Ira Einhorn at a news conference in Paris, to the family of the woman he was convicted (in absentia) of murdering in 1977. Mr. Einhorn, who fled the United States shortly before his trial for the murder of Holly Maddux, referred to a Philadelphia radio station's and newspaper's promotion that invited people to throw tomatoes at his likeness. French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin agreed to extradition after winning assurances from American authorities that Mr. Einhorn would receive a new trial and not face the death penalty even if found guilty. Mr. Einhorn, 60, has appealed Mr. Jospin's extradition decision.
