Prosecutors had subpoenaed any White House recordings during several different investigations, from Whitewater to Monica Lewinsky.

San Francisco Giants baseball star Barry Bonds, who on Oct. 3 broke Babe Ruth's record of 170 walks during a season. Mr. Bonds drew several intentional walks after hitting his 69th home run, one short of the major league record. Houston Astros fans booed their own team for walking Mr. Bonds intentionally.
