U.S. Rep. James Lankford, R-Okla., on the Health Care Compact, legislation that would transfer healthcare decisions and revenue from the federal government to states. It needs congressional approval to become law, but eight states have already signed on: Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Missouri, South Carolina, Texas, and Utah.

Approvals for visas for these legal immigrants reportedly can take up to 15 months now.

The former lesbian, who authored The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert and taught for 10 years at Syracuse University in its English and Women Studies program, said students she met with “believed firmly that there’s a legitimate Christian position to be held in a gay-affirming way.”
