Selling price for one of the 11 surviving copies of the Bay Psalm Book during a Nov. 26 auction at Sotheby’s in New York. The price was a new world auction record for a printed book. The Bay Psalm Book, printed in 1640 in Cambridge, Mass., was the first book printed in what became the United States. Buyer David Rubenstein said he will lend the book to libraries around the country.
