Former Miss America Heather Whitestone on being a wife and mother. The first deaf Miss America, Ms. Whitestone last week received a cochlear implant to help her hear. She decided last year to have the surgery when she wasn't able to hear the scream of her 2-year-old son after he had fallen. "I didn't hear him crying," she said. "I need to be the first one to hear him."

San Jose State football coach Fitz Hill on player Neil Parry, who had part of his right leg amputated after an injury in a game two years ago. The NCAA has cleared Mr. Parry to return to the San Jose State team, and he plans to play this season with the help of a prosthetic leg.
