Mini Russian Orthodox Church

The Russian army is training a unit of parachuting priests to be dropped with a self-assembly mini Russian Orthodox church in order to hold services for troops around the world. The small church includes replica icons, crucifixes, chalices, and bells, as well as an air-conditioning unit and a generator. Airborne Troops head priest Mikhail Vasilyev told the Guardian that Russian Orthodox chaplains need the mobile church to do their jobs: “Orthodox Christianity has many rituals with many religious items which makes catering for the flock without a physical church impossible.”
