Make known His deeds

I wish I could just send you all the testimonies I receive. I feel I wouldn't have to say much else. What a testimony does is expand the boundaries of the experience of the one with whom it is shared: Because God has done X, Y, or Z for you, and you have told me about it, I now am emboldened to trust God for situation X, Y, and Z, or one like it. In fact, my obligation is thereby increased, because now I know that God can do it, so there is no excuse for unbelief. He has displayed one more situation in history in which "nothing is impossible with God."

Thus, your experience of God, my friend-His deliverance in your life, His rescues, His promises fulfilled, His coming through after your long and patient waiting, His answers to your prayers, His turning mourning to joy, His turning bleak situations upside down, His surprising ways of wresting glory from impossibility-enhances my own portfolio of experiences of God.

This is why, for very practical reasons, we believers are to do the following:

"Make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wondrous works!" (Psalm 105:1-2)

This sharing of God's deeds in your life will bring the expansion. The expansion of the Kingdom we seek does not come by programs, even the best of them, but by word of mouth-in particular, by praise of mouth, specific praise for specific deeds. His deeds didn't end with the parting of the Red Sea or the toppling of Jericho's walls. He brings fresh deeds every morning, and the purpose of fellowship is to exchange them.

"Then those who feared the LORD spoke with one another" (Malachi 3:16).

What do you suppose they spoke about? Malachi doesn't say. He leaves it to our imagination.
