Whose streets?
The “industry” of prostitution not only destroys marriages, families, and lives, but it also destroys the spirit and soul in a way that leads to physical and spiritual death. The trafficked girls and women, the johns, the pimps, the police, and the legislators know this “industry” is wrong. They need to know Truth as measured by God’s Word.
David Shrum / New Market, Ala.
I just finished reading your cover story. I hated it. I was so grieved. What wickedness. I don’t know if I have ever prayed so much and so earnestly while reading an article—for the enslaved, users, and abusers. Oh Lord, heal our land.
Larry Minter / Milwaukie, Ore.
Flowers of the field
Let me salute and honor brave reporters such as William Fleeson. Until the invasion of Ukraine, I thought Putin was taking Russia in a pro-Christian direction. It is good to know now that many Ukrainians are coming to Christ. Our citizenship as Christians is in heaven, but I wish we could stop this war!

Problem parents?
Although becoming certified with a private organization for adoption can cost tens of thousands of dollars, becoming state-certified foster parents is free. After a child is placed, families receive a monthly stipend. I don’t want potential foster parents to be scared away by thinking it’s financially unattainable.

No need to be nasty
Joel Belz was spot on as usual. Sadly, for the past few years, some evangelicals think they have a license to be nasty, harsh, and judgmental toward fellow believers if they disagree even slightly with their politics. It’s disgraceful. Our political views change, but the Word of God never does.

The emperor’s new pronouns
I loved Lynn Vincent’s article on pronouns. The woke nonsense of progressives betrays an identity crisis in our culture, a culture that has encouraged people to deny their true identity in Yahweh for decades. It’s sad, but Lynn’s column left me laughing the rest of the day.
Jeb Rice / Fishers, Ind.
Lynn Vincent’s column was a gem. Johannes Kepler said we think God’s thoughts after Him. When the nations rage, can we not also laugh God’s laughter? “I resist neopronouns because they’re stupid” almost made me choke with mirth.
Noel Adams / Cedar Park, Texas
Light switching
With the new rule issued by the Department of Energy making it illegal to sell incandescent lightbulbs, we are no longer under a representative government of laws. We are under a government of bureaucratic dictates and rule by ukase.
Steve Conway / Edwardsville, Ill.
Trump’s legal team prepares for trial
The more critical issue of Donald Trump’s indictments is the absolute lawfare the left has enacted to shut down a political movement. That is the story.
Kathy Connors / Medina, Wash.
A longer shelf life
I recently returned home from two months on the road to four issues of WORLD and found each one still relevant and readable. In the past, I found even one or two of your backdated issues stale and too dated to enjoy. This updated approach is a welcome change.

Corrections
The Edict of Nantes was revoked in 1685 (“Unselfconscious courage,” Sept. 9, p. 70).
Due to a file transfer error, page 48 of “Mainline slide” in the Oct. 21 print edition reflected outdated text, resulting in broken paragraphs about Alan Shlemon and Unconditional Conference attendee Dawn. Please read the corrected text here.
