Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had been scheduled to address a joint session of the United States Senate and House of Representatives. In February Democratic lawmakers announced they would boycott the event, leading to speculation that the hawkish Israeli prime minister might change plans and address a different audience.

IHOP restaurants celebrating the 10th annual National Pancake Day will offer one free short stack of buttermilk pancakes to customers. The pancake chain expects to give away millions of free pancakes and is asking customers to pay forward the generosity by donating to local charities.

The Atlanta Hawks will pay tribute to former standout Dominique Wilkins by unveiling a 13½-foot granite statue of him outside Philips Arena. Wilkins played 12 seasons with the Hawks and earned nine All-Star appearances. Wilkins, who was known as the “Human Highlight Film,” is presently an executive with the Hawks.

The city of Selma, Ala., today commemorates the historic Selma civil rights march that met with violence 50 years ago. On March 7, 1965, African-American marchers were beaten on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in what became known as Bloody Sunday. Rep. John Lewis of Georgia, who helped lead the march in 1965, will join with President Barack Obama to lead a 50th anniversary march.

Daylight saving time in the United States will commence when the nation’s official clock skips the 2 o’clock hour and proceeds directly to 3 a.m. In Colorado, a proposed ballot initiative is gathering steam to make daylight saving effective year round. If supporters are successful, Colorado voters will decide on the measure in 2016.
