NASA advises Americans to step outside on this night to enjoy a rare celestial coincidence. On the night of Sept. 27, the full lunar eclipse will be enhanced by a supermoon event wherein the moon reaches its perigee and appears up to 14 percent larger. The combination should transform a bright moon into a large and faintly red orb in the night sky.

On World Bible Translation Day, Bible translators will celebrate in Orlando, Fla., the completion of Scripture in 16 different languages from parts of Africa, Asia, and South America, starting with a parade in traditional dress at Wycliffe Bible Translators headquarters.

Tension in medical waiting rooms should be high today when doctors across the nation must switch to a new medical coding system to bill insurance providers properly. Congress in 2014 voted to require medical providers to switch from the 9th edition of the International Classification of Diseases system to the 10th beginning today.

Breakfast may or may not be the most important meal of the day, but McDonald’s hopes it becomes the most lucrative. The flagging fast food giant will begin today serving breakfast all day every day in each of the company’s stores nationwide.

RealtyTrac says today is the best day of the year to purchase a home. Crunching numbers from more than 32 million home sales from the past 15 years, the research firm found October to be the cheapest time to buy a home and Oct. 8 to be the best day. Buying in April, the group said, typically results in a price 1.2 percent above market value.
