Math teachers across the nation will lead Pi Day celebrations for American middle-school and high-school students. The informal holiday is so named because March 14 aligns with the first three digits of pi: 3.14.

Republican presidential hopefuls Gov. John Kasich and Sen. Marco Rubio face home state contests today against GOP front-runner Donald Trump. Besides Kasich’s Ohio and Rubio’s Florida, Illinois, Missouri, and North Carolina all hold primaries today. The winner-take-all nature of some of the March 15 primaries could effectively end the Republican primary season—or give fresh life to the campaigns of Kasich or Rubio.

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder will testify before a congressional committee today about the ongoing water crisis in Flint, Mich. The U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is investigating the causes of high levels of lead found in Flint-area tap water.

The U.S. Supreme Court—reduced to eight justices since the death of Antonin Scalia—will hear oral arguments today over whether the Affordable Care Act violates the Religious Freedom Restoration Act by requiring certain religious groups to offer birth control coverage against their sincerely held religious beliefs. The case, Zubik v. Burwell, combines seven challenges to the healthcare law, including one from the Little Sisters of the Poor.

U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer has given German automaker Volkswagen until today to come up with a plan to fix the 600,000 diesel vehicles it sold in America on the basis of fraudulent emissions sensors.
