Letters from Bubba
Sometimes I can't stand it anymore. I need to share with you what Bubba writes to me because I feel I have an unfair advantage in being the recipient of his letters. Bubba is a young man in a Texas prison, and I have blanket permission to quote him any time I want.
Here are excerpts from recent correspondences (I will supply the punctuation. Bubba doesn't do periods or paragraphs):
"Hi Andrée: What's going on? Are you OK? Are you down? Just cast your care on Him for He cares for you. Don't let things in this world or life bring you down. Remember who your father is and know He loves you. You're a woman of God. Cast those thoughts down and speak God's Word over them like Jesus did in the wilderness."
"… A man I minister to fell away for a while but I kept encouraging him so today he ask me to talk and he told me his trouble and I listened and walked him back to repentance with the help of Christ. It is so amazing how it pours out. Jesus said out of your belly shall pour out rivers of living water. …"
"My hands broke out in a heat rash, they are so ugly. I been through a good storm myself but I keep on calling out like Peter did, and again like always He is faithful. Sometimes we bring it on ourselves: #1 by not obeying: that opens a door. #2 by not trusting in what He said to us, and by not confessing it over our situation. God promised us the world, Mom. Keep going. Stay strong."
"All I know to do is hold on to God's word and refuse to be moved no matter how bad I feel."
"I love you. Bubba."
