People can kill two birds with one stone. God can kill a million. The day I lost my teaching job, I thought it was all about me. It was a brilliant stroke on His part, with factors involved known only between God and me, and that would take too long to tell.

Then I got to thinking that God has a "history" with each of the people who were in some way involved with my defenestration saga. What breathtaking economy of action! I can only wonder at the ways this development has played out in everyone's life --- the Principal, the English department head, the Headmaster, each of the students, each of their parents, the school itself, the church of which the school is a part --- and on and on in expanding concentric circles.

The Lord has a universe to run, and He runs it so well that He can orchestrate each life to bring about the fulfillment of all the prophecies. Jesus came right on schedule, and from the right lineage (that's a lot of matchmaking, Lord!). And I can only believe that Jesus will come again right on schedule. It's not all about me; it's all about Him.
