Hillary Clinton's unflinching embrace of Planned Parenthood and abortion

Imagine embracing abortion as a cause, passionately supporting a so-called constitutional right that results in the death of a tiny human being whose existence is inconvenient. Now envision yourself advocating that the government force Americans, including pro-lifers, to pay for such deaths. It’s the difference between light and darkness, spiritual blindness and unscaled eyes.

Abortion backer and Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton has made her position clear to anyone left on the planet who doubts her. She will always support the abortion mill known as Planned Parenthood, regardless of the aborted-baby body parts scandal, and proudly. Denying unborn babies their right to live is a strange and shameful hill on which many a liberal probably would die.

At a recent campaign rally, Clinton also said that we need to protect access “to safe and legal abortion, not just in principle, but in practice. Any right that requires you to take extraordinary measures to access it is no right at all … and not as long as we have laws on the book like the Hyde Amendment, making it harder for low-income women to exercise their full rights.”

The Hyde Amendment bars federal funding for abortion through Medicaid, depending on how the baby was conceived. If a woman is impregnated through rape or incest, federal funds can be used to end her baby’s life. Since Clinton is concerned about people having the money to exercise their “full rights,” how would she feel about Second Amendment supporters lobbying the federal government to pay for everybody’s guns?

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List, responded to Clinton’s anti–Hyde Amendment rant: “Not only is she opposed to defunding Planned Parenthood, Hillary Clinton has now argued that taxpayers have an obligation to support abortion at any time, for any reason. This is the most dramatic pro-abortion position espoused by a leading political figure to date, and it changes the abortion debate. ‘Safe, legal, and rare,’ is long gone.”

WORLD noted that Planned Parenthood recently endorsed Clinton for president, the first time the organization has endorsed a candidate during the primaries. But it’s not all good news for Clinton. According to Live Action News, some of the abortion mill’s supporters oppose the endorsement. Its social media platforms “were flooded with comments from outraged supporters, who said they will no longer support Planned Parenthood after the group backed Clinton as a prelude to the primary elections. Some of Planned Parenthood’s core supporters even vowed to end financial contributions to the group and now agree that the abortion giant should be defunded.”

Withdrawn financial support now, and maybe withdrawn abortion support later. Let’s pray this will be the beginning of a spiritual awakening for those who presently advocate for the death of the unborn but oppose political endorsements. Every little bit helps. God is still saving.

“For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness,” the Apostle Paul wrote, “who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
