Globe Trot: Mosul residents beg for liberation

Emotional pleas from Iraqis still under the rule of ISIS

IRAQ: On Iraqi talk radio, Mosul residents are begging military forces to hurry up with liberation.

As the battle to retake Mosul from ISIS continues, this mother-son reunion is not to be missed.

In Iraqi Kurdistan, archaeologists have discovered a Bronze Age city that may date back to the first world empire in the third century.

ARCTIC: Temperatures at the North Pole are 36 degrees warmer than normal.

SUDAN: The government of Sudan’s full-on racial and religious war on Christians includes in recent weeks chemical weapons used against Nuba Mountain Christians, and arrests of teachers at a century-old Christian school in Khartoum.

SPEAKING: I’ll be speaking today for chapel at Covenant College, and on Sunday evening at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Ala.

UNITED STATES: Kevin DeYoung’s postelection prayer is a good way to end the week.
