Houston-area residents without a car can go to church in style with Carol and Bob Luthe of Lakewood Church. As part of their newly formed "Luthe Limousine Ministries," each Sunday the couple rents five limousines that circulate through the Houston metroplex, bringing people to and from church. Stops on the Luthe Limousine route include drug treatment centers, women's shelters, and children's homes. A pro-football player turned pastor, 39-year-old Rickey Bolten has converted a Washington, D.C., crack house into a Christian center for youth. Dubbed "The House" by local patrons, the center has a weight room, computer lab, and recording studio. Attracting roughly 60 kids a day since its opening last February, The House provides children with Christian mentors and evening dinners preceded by prayer. The only fee is a promise to attend a "spiritual growth" class and register for a House I.D. tag.
