Sunday school students in Winston-Salem, N.C., convinced Toys R Us to remove posters of Eminem-a controversial rapper who sings about murdering his wife and raping his mother-from all 708 of its nationwide locations. The store pulled the posters this March after receiving a petition signed by eight teenagers at Parkway United Church of Christ. "We just wanted people to know that children shouldn't be exposed to this," said one petitioner, 17-year-old Justin Speaks. Dallas obstetrician William Weise has a personal reason for opposing abortion: Three months before he was born, his mother contracted German measles and doctors advised her to abort him, citing a long list of possible birth defects, including blindness and mental retardation. She refused, and 18 years later her perfectly healthy son praised his mother's decision while speaking to classmates as his high school's valedictorian. Today, he volunteers his time giving sonograms at crisis pregnancy centers.
