This church in southern Mali was not built by missionaries, but is part of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches. Despite fighting in the north between the government and rebels aligned with al-Qaeda linked militants, the church in Mali has remained strong throughout the crisis. UN peacekeepers now are deployed in northern Mali, but suicide attacks continue.
