While watching Marc Bulger play well in his stead, one-time Super Bowl MVP quarterback Kurt Warner admits he's been thinking about moving on from the Rams organization. "I'm starting to imagine it a little more everyday."

Almost 19,000 fans at Detroit's Comerica Park didn't witness history on Sept. 28. Instead, they saw their Tigers avoid being tagged baseball's worst team of the modern era. The dubious distinction still belongs to the 1962 New York Mets. With just six games to play, the Tigers, who had lost 118 games at that point, needed to win five of the six final games to avoid the cellar. And with a come-from-behind win on the last day of the season, the Tigers did just that. Said pitcher Mike Maroth, baseball's first 20-game loser since 1980: "Believe it or not, I can look back on this year with a smile on my face because of how this season ended."

Soccer may be big time around the world, but it's not prime time in the United States. In late September when the U.S. soccer team shut out North Korea in the women's World Cup, ABC only garnered an overnight rating of 1.8-just over 1.3 million homes. What was the problem? The game faced Sunday-afternoon competition with a full NFL schedule. More than 10 million television sets were tuned to Fox to see the late afternoon football game.
