An inmate's joy
This is part of a letter I received from a 56-year-old inmate in February 2005, a couple of months before his release after spending 14 years in prison:
"As regards April-Hallelujah! It's as though I'm poised on the threshold of an epic adventure, awaiting the curtain to rise on my final act. I feel warm and secure in my Father's love-confident that so long as I seek first the Kingdom of God, all will be well. I fully expect phenomenal blessings from our Father of Lights. Have seen flashes through the dark glass. Lace those together with God-induced visions, prophetic words (and insights), and ever-expanding understanding of His thoughts He thinks of us, and the future beckons warm, exciting, and good.
"Years of wilderness deprivation have worked wonders of anticipated appreciation. I can almost see the tears come to my sons' eyes when they realize Dad loves them and isn't going away again. Listen-can you hear the faint strains of the songs yet to be sung? The love of God is pregnant in our hearts-expressed in words, preaching, caresses-ministering life to multitudes. Blind eyes opened, demons cast out, hope filling pools of Baca. Leaving a trail of his glory. 'And it shall come to pass that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.'
"I'm crying right now. My heart feels like it is bursting with His love. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for everything. …You and your babies are covered in my prayers. … Ronnie"
Update: Ronnie now lives in northeast Texas with the wife God gave him after his release. They share a radio ministry.
Just thought this would encourage someone.
