Abortionist neglects to mention death settlement

More than 40 years ago, seven of nine U.S. Supreme Court justices decided a privacy right existed somewhere in the U.S. Constitution that allowed women to kill their non-viable unborn babies on demand. Seven people gave us “law of the land” abortion. This country’s Founders would be astonished. They’d be astonished about a lot of things, but I suspect abortion and same-sex marriage would alarm them most.

Under the guise of “reproductive health,” “choice,” or some other euphemism, abortionists have legally killed millions of human beings. Abortion advocates seem so intent on snuffing out unborn life that they oppose laws intended to raise the standard of care for women at abortion centers. In 2012, abortionist Mandy Gittler killed the second-trimester unborn baby of 24-year-old Tonya Reaves at a Planned Parenthood facility in Chicago. Something else went wrong, and Reaves ended up bleeding to death. Her mother sued, and Planned Parenthood settled for $2 million.

To reduce the risk of such events reoccurring, lawmakers have crafted legislation that would require abortionists to have admitting privileges at hospitals located close to where they perform abortions and have their facilities meet the standards of ambulatory surgical centers, among other safeguards. Abortion, as advocates remind us, is a “medical procedure.” Dismembering a baby is a type of “surgery,” as gruesome as it is, so abortion centers should be held to higher standards.

LifeNews.com reported that Gittler, who waited hours to send Reaves to a hospital, recently applied for and received a medical license in Indiana. She didn’t mention Reaves’s hemorrhage death. She answered “No” to whether she had a malpractice judgment against her or settled such a suit. Is Gittler’s response technically true? Regardless, according to LifeNews.com, pro-lifers leapt into action:

“Last week, Operation Rescue filed a complaint against Gittler with the Indiana Attorney General for violations of the Indiana Administrative Code, which states regarding license applications, “All information on the application shall be submitted under oath or affirmation, subject to the penalties for perjury.

“It is clear from the documentation Operation Rescue included with its complaint that Gittler was the primary person responsible for Reaves’ death and that Planned Parenthood agreed to pay because there was simply no defense for Gittler’s negligence.”

With so much turmoil in the world, I do feel better knowing there will be an accounting. Abortionists like Gittler will have to answer for their actions. Can you hear the excuses now? But we know our God is a forgiving one and that He’s still saving. Among the present generation of people who make a living killing babies could be among God’s elect. Once saved, they’ll have a powerful testimony as to how He changes hearts.

Whenever you read the news and shake your head in frustration, remember that God is sovereign. He wouldn’t want us to be discouraged or angry to the point of sinning.

Though we may not grasp the details of His plan, we, as the body of Christ, play a role in it.
