A liberal definition of choice

A sacred word in their lexicon that leads to destruction

Choice.

The word is as sacred to liberals as diversity. Both are political buzzwords they invoke to seem enlightened and tolerant. For example, they’re “pro-choice” when it comes to abortion—an act that ends in death for vulnerable and voiceless unborn human beings. But they don’t want taxpayers to have a choice in paying for those deaths.

Opposing the Hyde Amendment is now part of the Democratic Party’s platform. This annually renewed law first passed in 1976 purportedly blocks federal tax dollars (Medicaid) from paying for elective abortions. Though the law doesn’t apply when it comes to killing babies conceived in rape, incest, or when the mother’s life is in danger, it doesn’t go far enough for Hillary Clinton. The Democratic nominee wants Congress to repeal it. Even if the Hyde Amendment stands under a President Clinton, our money still ends up in the hands of the abortion industry. Planned Parenthood claims it uses our money for “preventive care,” not elective abortions. I suspect that for many pro-lifers, the problem is Planned Parenthood getting their money at all, even if goes toward paying the light bill.

Abortion advocates want women to be allowed to kill their babies “on demand,” without a waiting period for a procedure that ends human life. The abortion industry believes any restrictions—24-hour waiting periods or mandatory ultrasounds—are a violation of a woman’s “constitutional” right of privacy to end her baby’s life.

It’s understandable that those who make money from killing babies don’t want women to think about what they’re about to do, and they certainly don’t want to emphasize the baby’s humanity. But isn’t knowing the truth preferred over a lifetime of regret?

Liberals also oppose taxpayer-supported educational choice for children stuck in failing public schools. The NAACP in Florida has joined the teachers union in trying to shut down the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship. Signed into law by former Gov. Jeb Bush, the state program helps low-income parents send their children to private schools. Apparently, tax dollars should pay for death but not educational choice.

Apparently, tax dollars should pay for death but not educational choice.

Liberals support choice for men pretending to be women to use private facilities designated for women, but they seem unconcerned about other people’s modesty, privacy, and safety. No choice for them. And if they openly oppose the opposite sex in their restrooms, they’re hateful bigots.

Sin is part of human nature, and blatant biases are ancient. As King Solomon wrote, “There is nothing new under the sun.” Whatever kind of human perversion or depravity you can think of, it’s been done. He continued, “It has already been in ancient times before us. There is no remembrance of former things, nor will there be any remembrance of things that are to come by those who will come after.”

This is not the time to despair, though it might be tempting. He who raises the dead has delivered us from death. The world crumbles, yet the kingdom grows. Contend for the faith and pray for the lost. Whoever thirsts will come.
