A daily massacre
The slaughter of babies in the womb is the result of careful planning

If we’re coming to learn anything about modern-day terrorism, we’re discovering how sophisticated and calculating its implementers have become. The video records from Turkey, Orlando, San Bernardino, Paris, and all the other sites may look like chaos and mayhem. But again and again, we’re witnessing how complex, complicated, and mature these attacks now are.
If you’d still been thinking naïvely of the terrorists as wandering extremists on a random rampage, the Istanbul airport bombing may have challenged you to listen a bit more diligently to the security experts. These are folks from our own and other countries who face the all-but-impossible task of stopping these vicious monsters before they strike yet again. Folks from the FBI, the CIA, and the whole intelligence community tell us that to stop them we’ve got to think of them as ever so evilly structured and organized.
But if the headlines on Tuesday, June 28, shook us to some new realities along those lines, maybe we should have been awakened even more soberly just 24 hours earlier on Monday, June 27. The scene that morning wasn’t Istanbul’s hugely busy airport. It was instead the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, where five black-robed justices announced to the world that they were signing off on the lives of tens and even hundreds of thousands of young American babies.
Thomas and Alito were asserting that their colleagues had a specific judicial target in mind and were twisting the facts to achieve that ghoulish goal.
They didn’t announce their actions nearly that explicitly, of course—any more than the three bombers broadcast their intentions before arriving at the heavily populated and heavily guarded Atatürk Airport. But in rejecting the right of the state of Texas to set minimal health and safety standards for abortion centers that operate in Texas, the Supreme Court immediately opened the doors for substandard centers to reopen their doors. And whatever the impact might be on the health and safety of the mothers involved, there was no doubt that the result would be that hundreds and then thousands of babies would die. Those aren’t just scare statistics. The death of the babies is the whole point of the abortion centers. One way or another, those inconvenient babies had to be gotten out of the way.
So the quiet planning for those babies’ deaths had been underway for months, if not for years. The scheming, the conniving, and the indoctrination have been everywhere for the last half-century, ever since the high court first allowed for abortion in 1973. In their dissent to the June decision—sized up by many on both sides of the abortion debate as the most profoundly overwhelming in the last generation—Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito blasted the 5-3 majority on the court for manipulating court precedents in order to reach its conclusion. In other words, Thomas and Alito were asserting that their colleagues had a specific judicial target in mind and were twisting the facts to achieve that ghoulish goal.
The end result? Not the carefully planned one-time slaughter of 40 or 50 innocent tourists passing through the Istanbul airport, hideous as that attack was. The end result of Washington’s thoughtfully reckoned calculation will be the daily massacre of dozens of infant Texans—starting right now, and extending as far as you can imagine into the future. And after the Texans’ deaths will follow the deaths of tens and hundreds of thousands of other babies in other states where lawmakers couldn’t find a way to avoid the Texas precedent.
All that, as I said, was not some terrifyingly bloody result our society tried hard to avoid but couldn’t quite find a detour to take a different route. Instead, all this was the result our courts, and all their allies in the media and the educational establishment, have deliberately planned for. Their murderous calculation has been going on as its perpetrators have been waiting and scheming for their big moment.
What we saw and heard on June 27 was simply the first fruit of that sinister plan. And in their own words, expressed in their jubilation over the court’s decision, these folks have even more to come.
