Introducing WORLD News Group’s Vanguard Speaker Series

In 2025, World News Group launched the Vanguard Speaker Series. Each month, we bring in a subject-matter expert to speak to our reporters and editors on current and future trends in topics of interest to our audience—from AI to origins to education to worldview and more—a sweeping range of important subjects that cover, to paraphrase Psalm 24:1, “The world and everything in it.”

The Vanguard Vision

People in the “vanguard” lead the way, and the Vanguard series’ purpose is to equip our staff for forward-thinking journalism. Take generative AI as an example: We can find out what’s currently being discussed concerning AI with a Google search, or by asking ChatGPT. But from our Vanguard speakers, we’d like to know what AI experts are talking about among themselves—and what they’ll likely be talking about six months from now. Further, what’s not being covered by other media? Our Vanguard speakers deliver talks that place our writers and editors ahead of emerging trends, so they can deliver cutting edge news and features that serve our audience.

Details 

When: Our Vanguard Speaker Series takes place the first Wednesday of each month.
Where: On Zoom
Audience size: 60 – 75 reporters, editors, executives, and HQ staff.
Duration: Each Vanguard speaker delivers a 30-minute talk, followed by a Q&A period of 30 minutes or less. We end at precisely 60 minutes (our reporters and editors have to get back to the news!)
Honorarium: $1,000
