Zelenskyy in U.S. to discuss peace plan

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday said the next few months would define the outcome of his country’s war against Russia. Speaking to attendees of the American Academy of Achievement awards ceremony, Zelenskyy said the Kremlin was attacking not just Ukraine, but freedom itself. If the United States and its Western allies rallied around Ukraine for a final push, they could tip the balance of the conflict in favor of democracy, Zelenskyy said.

Zelenskyy promised to meet with U.S. President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Donald Trump during his visit to the United States this week. He vowed to present Ukraine’s plan to win its war against Russia to all three leaders. Zelenksyy also promised to present the plan to other world leaders. The United Nations is meeting in New York this week.

Has Zelenskyy attended any other events during his U.S. visit? Zelenskyy on Sunday praised workers at an ammunition factory in Pennsylvania for their support in his country’s fight against Russia. He said the plant’s workers—and the workers at other ammunition plants around the country—have helped his country defend itself against Russian forces. The Scranton Army Ammunition Plant produces 155mm artillery and mortar shells.
