Biden announces pro-abortion plan

President Joe Biden on Friday announced executive actions to protect women from penalties for getting abortions. The executive order formalized instructions to the Department of Justice and the Department of Health and Human Services on how to keep legal systems from illegalizing traveling across state lines for abortions or prohibiting mail-order abortion drugs. The order also directs agencies to educate medical providers about when sharing healthcare information is permissible. Biden also announced that the White House is convening lawyers to give women free legal assistance.

How will this affect states that protect babies? These actions will likely limit some penalties in states that already have legislation to protect babies, but they are limited in their ability to keep states from passing pro-life laws. Biden’s ability to take executive action is limited without congressional approval. He has said that Congress will have to codify abortion into federal law to stop states from regulating it.
