Van driver attacks Muslim pedestrians in London
London police are responding to an attack on pedestrians in the northern part of the city. A man driving a white van lurched into a crowd of Muslim worshippers leaving prayers at the Finsbury Park mosque on Monday morning. Ten people sustained injuries in the attack and police are investigating whether one man’s death was connected. Security officials arrested the van’s 48-year-old driver and took him to a hospital as a precaution. Prime Minister Theresa May condemned the attack and said she would chair an emergency meeting this morning. Muslims are celebrating their holy month of Ramadan, which ends this week. Police said they have deployed additional forces to the area.
