Defense Department sends Ukraine new $725M aid package
The Pentagon on Monday said it was giving Ukraine roughly $725 million worth of military aid to assist it in its war against Russia. The hardware includes rockets, air defense systems, anti-tank weapons, and land mines. This is the Biden administration’s 71st aid package that it has provided to Ukraine, the Pentagon said.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday said Ukraine must be able to produce its own unmanned drones for use on the battlefield. Zelenskyy confirmed that he met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and drone manufacturers in Germany.
How is the war going? Zelenskyy’s Ministry of Defense on Tuesday said that Russia had lost more than 1,700 troops in Ukraine in the past day. The Kremlin’s forces also lost dozens of vehicles, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Ministry of Defense on Tuesday said hundreds of Ukrainian troops were across different locations, including hundreds of losses in the Kursk region of Russia, where Kyiv’s forces have captured some ground. The Kremlin said Ukraine has lost more than 37,000 troops in Kursk ever since Ukrainian troops advanced into the border region earlier this year.
