At a rally of supporters in Macomb County, Mich., Tuesday night, President Donald Trump called the first 100 days of his second presidency “a revolution of common sense.” He touted what he viewed as major early victories, starting with the southern border, where he said illegal crossings are down 99.999%. Trump also disputed headlines saying prices are rising, noting that energy and gas prices are down. The president said his trade tariffs will protect American autoworkers.
What does Trump say he will do next? On Tuesday, he signed an executive order relaxing some of the 25% tariffs he levied on vehicles and auto parts. U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer told senators on Tuesday that many trade deals are close to being finalized with countries that are subject to tariffs. Before the rally, Trump appeared with Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and announced plans for a new fighter jet mission at an Air National Guard base in the state.
