Trump endorses Ryan in show of party unity
Donald Trump has formally endorsed House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., ending a brief standoff between two of the most visible leaders of the Republican Party. Trump made the announcement Friday during a campaign stop in Green Bay, Wis. “We have to unite,” Trump said, also expressing support for the reelection campaigns of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., with whom he exchanged barbs in the media earlier this week. Trump added, “We will have disagreements. But we will disagree as friends and never stop working together toward victory.”
