Three U.S. soldiers killed in Jordan
Three United States military members were killed today in a shooting outside a base in southern Jordan. The three were on a training mission in Jordan and came under fire while driving into the al-Jafr base, according to Pentagon press secretary Peter Cook. The base is located in the southern Jordanian town of Mann. Cook said U.S. officials are consulting with the Jordanian government to determine exactly what happened. It appears the shooting took place at about noon local time Friday, but it is not clear what instigated it. A Jordanian officer was also wounded. Jordan is a member of the U.S.-led coalition fighting Islamic State (ISIS).
