Texas yoga instructor sentenced to 90 years for murdering pro cyclist
A Texas jury sentenced yoga instructor Kaitlin Armstrong on Friday to 90 years behind bars for the murder of rising professional cyclist Anna Moriah Wilson. The jurors had convicted her the day before. The sentencing concluded a case involving a 43-day international search for Armstrong. During that time, investigators say she got a nose job and changed the color and style of her hair to avoid authorities.
Why did Armstrong kill Wilson? Prosecutors described Wilson’s shooting as the result of a jealous rage. Wilson had briefly dated Armstrong’s boyfriend several months before the murder. She was also seen with him the day she was killed. Wilson was in Austin, Texas, ahead of a race that she was favored to win. Armstrong used a fitness app to track Wilson to her apartment, where she shot Wilson three times.
