Tennessee recovers from tornadoes

Residents of central Tennessee on Sunday surveyed wreckage on their properties and damage to their homes. Tornadoes pummelled the area over the weekend, killing six people and putting dozens more in the hospital. Police said half of the deaths occurred in a mobile home community on the outskirts of Nashville when one mobile home flipped onto another. A mother and her son were killed, along with a man who lived near them.

How is the recovery going? Officials on Sunday said power companies are working to restore electricity to tens of thousands of customers. PowerOutage.US reported that roughly 35,000 people were still without power as of Sunday evening, but that number was down from 80,000 the previous night.
