Tennessee highway shooting motivated by anger at police

Investigators in Tennessee say a man who opened fire at passing cars on a highway was angry about recent shootings of black men by white police officers in Louisiana and Minnesota. Lakeem Keon Scott, 37, killed one woman and injured three other people, including one police officer, in the Thursday morning attack. Scott was wounded in a shootout with police and is in custody. About 18 hours later, suspects started shooting at a Dallas protest over police violence, killing five officers. Incidents in Georgia and Missouri also appear motivated by anger over the Louisiana and Minnesota shootings. In Georgia, police say a suspect called 911 to report a fake break-in to lure an officer into an ambush. The officers wounded in those incidents are all expected to survive.
