Suicide bombing near prominent Medina mosque kills four

A suicide bomber killed four members of the Saudi security force Monday in a blast detonated in Medina just outside a mosque where Muhammad is buried. The Interior Ministry said five others were wounded in the attack. The mosque was crowded with people gathered for sunset prayer Monday evening, the day before Ramadan ends. Similar attacks took place Monday outside a Shiite mosque in the eastern Saudi city of Qatif and near a U.S. Consulate in the western city of Jiddah. The Interior Ministry said it was working to identify three bodies, believed to be the attackers, at the site of the attack in Qatif. No other injuries were reported. In Jiddah, a suicide bomber detonated his explosives after two security guards approached him, killing himself and injuring the two guards, according to the Interior Ministry. No group has yet claimed responsibility for any of the attacks.
