Storms ravage South as fires blaze on

Severe weather is blamed for fives deaths Tuesday night in Alabama and Tennessee. Three people died and one was critically injured when an apparent tornado hit a mobile home in Rosalie, Ala. Two others died in a possible tornado in Polk County, Tenn. The heavy storms brought needed rain to the South, particularly in areas hit by wildfires. Between 3/4 and 1 inch of rain fell on Gatlinburg, Tenn., where fires have killed three people and destroyed at least 150 buildings. Active fires are still burning in the area despite the rain.
