State Department issues worldwide alert for terrorist attacks

The U.S. State Department on Friday issued the alert for Americans abroad, advising them to exercise increased caution. The alert warned of potential terrorist attacks, demonstrations, and violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests.

What sort of terrorist attack is anticipated? The State Department specifically warned about terrorist attacks against individuals who identify as LGBTQ+. The agency warned Americans to stay alert if they were participating in Pride demonstrations or at locations frequented by individuals who identify as LGBTQ+.
