Several students stabbed at high school in western Germany
The Düsseldorf police confirmed that the incident occurred Thursday at a high school in Wuppertal. Authorities gave no details on the extent of the victims' injuries but said the male attacker was “critically injured.” German news source dpa said police confirmed that four students were injured in the attack. Police also said the Wuppertal public prosecutor’s office has launched a criminal investigation into the incident. Authorities have not said if the attacker had any connection to the school. Minister for Schools and Education of North Rhine-Westphalia Dorothee Feller gave her condolences in a social media post and said psychological support is available for anyone at the school. Police are expected to give more information on the investigation at a Friday press conference.
