Russian suicide drones kill four in Kyiv

Mayor Vitali Klitschko said 28 kamikaze drones attacked the Ukrainian capital on Monday. He said the drones tore a hole in one building and set several others ablaze. Four civilians died. Gunfire rang out during the barrage, apparently from soldiers trying to shoot down the drones before they struck.

What kind of drones are these? They are believed to be Iranian-made Shahed drones. They cost $20,000 apiece, which is far cheaper than the $1 million price tag on the Kalibr cruise missiles Russia used to pockmark Ukraine earlier in the war. The explosive-packed Shahed drones can circle above a target before nosediving in for the kill. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, citing Ukrainian intelligence services, has alleged Russia ordered 2,400 drones from Iran.
