Russian missile strike kills 11 in Zelenskyy’s hometown
Russian missiles on Tuesday morning struck a warehouse and an apartment building in the central Ukrainian town of Kryvyi Rih. Mayor Oleksandr Vilkul said seven people died in the warehouse, four died in the apartment building, and more than two dozen others were injured. Neither of the buildings that were hit had military links, he said. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was born in the mining town.
What else is happening in the war? International Atomic Energy Agency Director Rafael Mariano Grossi on Tuesday said the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant could be in danger after a dam burst last week. The dam helped keep water in a reservoir that cools the plant’s reactors, he said. Russian troops control the plant, but Ukrainian workers still run the facility.
