Ukrainian military: Russia kills six civilians in strike on mail depot
Russia launched a missile strike on a mail depot in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv on Saturday. The resulting blast killed six people and injured at least 16, all employees of the private Ukrainian postal service Nova Poshta. Other Russian strikes in Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region wounded three more people.
What was Ukraine’s response? Nova Poshta announced that Sunday would be a day of mourning for the company. The Russian military used a record number of aerial bombs in the country’s Kherson region over the weekend, said Natalia Humeniuk, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian military’s Operational Command South. Ukraine recorded 36 missiles over the area, some striking villages.
