Police arrest UVA shooting suspect

The suspect in a Sunday night shooting at the University of Virginia was apprehended late Monday morning after a manhunt. Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., a former student and football player for UVA, is accused of killing three people on the football team and wounding two other students. The shooting took place on a bus of students who were returning from an off-campus trip. Police have not yet announced a motive for the killings.

How did they catch him? The shooting prompted a furious manhunt. Jones was publicly identified well in advance of being apprehended. For more than 12 hours, UVA students were told to shelter in place. University President Jim Ryan and law enforcement officials were holding a late-morning news conference when they were told Jones was in custody.
